You loved seeing your child wear certain outfits and when outgrown they were packed away for safe keeping. They were all but forgotten when you discovered them by chance. Why not preserve those memories and have an heirloom to pass down through the generations?
Keepsake Baby Memory Quilt Selection and Preparation
24 to 48 garments/items needed for a 36" x 48" Quilt *Custom Orders Only
The garments should be UNCUT. If the garments are already cut I can use them but additional labor and charges will apply ($5.00 per cut item). All garments/items need to be laundered in the washing machine with 2 cups white vinegar in hot water on a normal cycle to remove any fabric softer build up. Dry in the dryer without any fabric softener or dryer sheets. This process allows the interfacing, if needed, to properly adhere to the garment/item properly.All garments/items must be clean. This includes garments/items with body odor, mildew, moth balls or animal hair. A laundering fee of $50.00 will apply if your garments/items need to be laundered when I receive them.All custom quilt orders require a $75.00 non-refundable deposit through PayPal at the time your order is placed.Any special instructions, special placement of garments/items, please place a piece of masking tape or blue painters tape on the side of the item you would like to use. IF there is something you do not want to use please mark that as well.Please number your garments/items in order of importance as this will help with the layout. Please mark the sides/parts of the garments/items you want to be used with a small piece of masking tape or blue painters tape. Just use a small piece of tape on the side of the item you want to be included in your design. Fold item with the side facing up that you would like to use. Mark "do not use" on parts of items you definitely do not want in your quilt. You can write on the masking tape special instructions like "front only", "both sides", "center", and "very important".I suggest that you send in a few extra garments/items just in case an extra piece is needed for your design. Please mark the extras. If not cut and used, the extra garments/items will be returned with the finished quilt. All cut and unused shirt parts will be recycled for painter’s rags.Up to 2 blocks of combining logos or irregular pieces,v neck, or to make correct block size are included on each quilt. Additional seaming charges are $5.00 per block. Up to two appliques (patches) are included with each quilt. Additional appliques are $5 each.
Shipping Information
Pack your clean T-Shirts/garments/items in a vacuum pack storage bag (available at Dollar Stores). Vacuum out the air. This helps reduce the size of the box you need.
Pack the vacuum bag in a sturdy box (I use the priority boxes from USPS) and enclose a copy of your Order Form.
Securely tape the box closed and completely cover the Shipping and Return Address labels with clear packing tape to ensure the labels are firmly attached to the box and safe from exposure to wet weather during shipment.
Send to the address on the Order Form and ship via your choice of carrier. I use USPS. You are responsible for the payment of your package to me. Please purchase delivery confirmation and insurance so you can track your package.
The Next Step
When I receive your shipment I will email you a timeline for your Keepsake Baby Memory Quilt along with a PayPal invoice showing your paid $75.00 non-refundable deposit.
Once I have a preliminary design of your quilt you will be emailed photos and any questions I may have and I may call you. Please watch your email.
I will need a design approval before I proceed with your order.
I will email photos again when your quilt is finished along with a PayPal invoice for your final payment.
Once final payment is made your package will be shipped via USPS insured mail and your tracking number will be emailed to you.
Quick turn around time....4 to 6 weeks....possibly slightly longer during graduations (May-June) and the holiday season (November-December).
